I went off on a big rant about not letting the doorman scan my ID last night because the last thing I fuckin need is to have the goddamn government showing up at my house tomorrow. I was really just feeling spiney and hateful of being in NYC, but I figured you'd get a little chuckle from that mental image.

I definitely like that idea. My friends keep trying to get me to open up my own restaurant, but I really don't have the experience or knowledge to run my own joint. I also don't think where I live is ready for the kind of restaurant I would want to open (French brasserie with raw bar, kinda like Blue Ribbon in NYC, with a few upscale takes on American classics). I'm still considering going to culinary school or getting another job in the restaurant biz, but you know how much of a bitch that can be. Plus I don't know if my back could stand up (literally) to that kind of work and the long hours.
