a few weeks ago i posted something similar about tennessee, but there does not seem to be much going on in tennessee so i ask what do you people know about texas? austin mainly. i am looking for somewhere to go that i havnt been and explore, do a little "is the grass greener" research. so i think maybe sometime later in the year i may go to austin instead of tennessee. so lay it on me, whats up with texas?

Texas sucks... you should move to Connecticut. That's where it's at

Texas is awesome, but Austin is full of hippies and college yuppies. I love heading up to that town to drink it up, but I would go fucking crazy living there.

I know when I was there almost EVERYONE had tattoos. Giant tattoo culture thats for sure. It also has more music venues per capita than any other city.
? Cant be all that bad.

I had a good time there - a couple of decent bars, a new tattoo and a good show.

20 years ago, yes. Now days, hippies and sissified skinheads. Emo's does have good shows.......and if you're lucky, you might get to meet Roofie. But you'd probably have to go to San Marcos for that.

Houston or San Antonio. We haven't had many shows here in Houston lately, but we always find something to do. I don't know much about Dallas, but I'm biased on that anyway. Austin is a fun city to party in, but I wouldn't count on it for much else.

You could always end up in beautiful Lake Jackson. We have a quarry with wooly mammoth skeletons!
*edit* I was gonna say 'mammoth bones' but it would sound like I was talkin myself up

Well, between now & October the 'grass will not be greener', it will be crispy and brown since it's about to settle into 4 months of 90+ temperatures. If scorching heat is your sorta thing then come on down. It depends on what you want to do but Austin, San Antonio and the Coast are usually the safe bets with the neato factor.

Yeah. I used to live on Bastrop bayou and if you went down to the dock to fish in the summer it was like a beard of bees but instead of bees it was mosquitos and instead of a beard it was a burqa. Luckily I live near the Dow plant now so the mosquitos and other life forms aren't much around. There's an alligator in a culvert though

Is it sad that whenever I think of the dow plant it makes me want to go to the beach? It's kinda like when you see the smoke stacks of Texas City and you know you're almost to Galvetraz. Sigh...someday, I'll go to a real beach, with blue water and no chemical plants or oil rigs.

Hahaha..Not a DAMN thing makes me want to go to the beach. Not those beaches anyways. Although I swear I've seen a midget cop in Surfside. That would make me want to go back.

Aha...now I'm gonna have to abandon Galveston and Crystal all together so that I can spend summers searching for the mythical midget cop of surfside. haha

Here's the story for those interested.
Me and a buddy were taking his grandpa to some elk's lodge meeting or something of that nature, and after we dropped him off we went into a gas station. There were two hotdogs unattended on the counter and when I went to pay I stood around looking for whoever left them there. The dude at the counter said that a couple came in and the dude of the couple started assembling the His and Her hotdogs and she got mad when he started putting all sorts of malarkey on it. Anyways, I think they blew up at eachother and brawled around a little over the hotdogs and while me and Trey were laughing at that, here comes a midget dressed up like a cop. He wasn't an incredibly stumpy midget but more like just under five feet. I had to get Trey to look without making a big scene so I had to pinch, push and step on his foot. It was the best ever
PS they let me and trey have the hotdogs.
