sucks. im stuck in the house now until july 14th and its driving me nuts. i find out tomorrow or the next day if and when i can go back to work. so ive watched pretty much everything on demand that i can stand, i check my email like 100 times a day, i cant have band practice or to many visitors. im starting to be one of those freaks that looks out the windows at what the neighbors are doing and wondering who drives what car in the neighborhood. it will be a godamn miracle if i dont violate this thing before next month....so ladies and gents...dont drink and drive, cause house arrest sucks.

If you're getting house arrest, it isn't a first offense.

A drunk driver put my mom and little brother in the hospital.

Another drunk driver ran down my friend's five year old baby sister.

Why don't you spend the next six weeks meditating on that.

DUI is stupid,I have one under my belt, learned my lesson in 02',now if I have more then a beer or two(no shots..)I do it at home,or someone else is driving.
I'll bet that at least 80% of the drinkers on this forum drink & drive at least three times a month.
This should be a poll...I can't figure out the poll thing,otherwise...

Look on the bright side. At least you're not sitting in jail until the 14th.

Or ran anybody over and have to spend the next 10 years in jail.

its a second offense, the first one was five years ago. and for the record i blew right over the limit and was not involved in an accident. no one was hurt.

House arrest for DUI?
Any specifics as to why?.... delaware law states that the second offense is a manditory 60 days, so when i went to court my lawyer worked it out so that i spent seven of those days in jail and then i would do the rest of the time on house arrest.

and yea its better than jail by a long shot but its still pretty fucking boring.

Drinking and driving is stupid enough, but anyone who lives even in a remotly urban area has no excuse with cabs, trains, etc.
I also learned my lesson 10 years ago when I decided that the cop who was trying to pull me over would find it funny that instead of pulling over for him, I gave him the finger, lit a cig and turned up the MTBB to full volume. He didn't think it was so funny and I ended up crashing my car, losing my licence and paying thousands more then a fucking cab would have cost.
Thankfully I didn't hurt anyone but myself.

Is that your attempt to justify your behavior? There are a million ways to avoid drunk driving. The best one forgoing the last drink or two so you have cab fare.

no, im not justifying anything, its my way of saying that there are different degrees of drinking and driving, i certainly wasnt smashed, as a matter of fact i thought i had waited long enough that i should be fine to drive. i guess i just for got how better than everyone else people can be sometimes. and i really just started this thread to kill some time and boredom because of my house arrest, not start a moral argument on drinking and driving.

In all fairness.. has anyone actually tested themselves at the legal limit and noticed how drunk they felt? I'm not advocating drunk driving but i've driven sleepier feeling drunker than I have at the legal limit. C'mon.

But legally, it's perfectly fine to drive exhausted. I'm not losing my license because I only had 4 hours sleep the last 3 days. But i'll lose it because I had 2 or 3 beers. Silly.

Now if you're fuckin trashed, that's a different story.

Yeah seriously. What is with that fucking bitch? I hope the judge who sent her there sends her ass back. 4000 square feet of house arrest? And she can go out for "doctor's appointments" "go to the post office" or "get groceries and such".

Fuck that noise.

On the drinking and driving thing, I have no room to talk. I drank and drove, and though I was below the maximum amount of drinks for the timeline I drank in, I still had alcohol on my breath and blew barely higher. Now I don't drink and drive. Fuck I hardly even leave the house because I'm on a suspended license right now. Hence the new avatar and title.

I'm not trying to be a bitch or make you feel bad, I am just a firm believer in drinky=no drivey. I used to drive stoned when I was a kid, and still have problems with my hip to show for it. I only took out a lightpole, but it very well could have been a family.

If Paris can do it you can do it:smile:

How the hell do you people get home from the bar if you are so hardcore against drinking and driving? Sure, there are some nights when I am too hammered to drive, but on a regular night when I had maybe 6-7 beers, whos gives a shit?

this is why i dont drive. Never had a license my entire life, not about to start now! I could give a fuck less about DUIs. I couldnt afford to get drunk if I had to pay for gas. I miss public transit!

Delaware sucks man Even in the area we live a cab from the "Local" bar is kinda expensive and no im not sayin that is a reason to drive drunk but it happens ALOT in this area even when all of your pals are throwin a few drinks back... My little brother on the other hand is a fuckin moron.. Drove home from Philly all the way to the beach(our fathers house) Smashed and got caught 2 miles from home on a 101 mile drive.. 2000 dollars and a year probation...

I blew .08 when I got mine. It was my second, with 12 years between them.

Seems like a lot of people will jump you for it after the fact.

i wish i would hit a college kid, but other than that i try hard as hell not to drive while smashed after bouncing off some cars one night on the way home. i was like a ball in a pinball machine, except the ball was made of 1988 cadillac and the bumpers were shiny college kid cars. the good thing about columbus, central part at least, is you can walk just about everywhere, take a bus till 11pm, then call a cab farely easy if you're too trashed to even walk. sucks when you're on the road next to someone who's trashed and swerving all over the road, especially when it's only 10 in the morning.
