By the way Shots, you get ripped off by beer prices there when the beer is from here. They had Moylans Kilt Lifter at some store in Jersey for almost $6 a bottle and they told me it was "imported." I started laughing and pointed to where it says on the bottle 'made in california.' Yeuingling would probably cost a shitload for a 6 pack here.

Ha, here in Houston a lot of the bars classify Shiner as an import and it's made an hour and a half away. Assholes...I refuse to spend $4 on a glass of Shiner.

Dogfish head 60 minute IPA...$8.00 a 6 pack
Dogfish head 90 minute IPA $10 a 4 pack
(if i had any balls i would have bought the Dogfish 120 min brew...$10 per 12oz bottle.... a coma in a can at 14% )
3x Maharaja IPA ( avery brewing, boulder co. ) $6 per 22oz bottle
3x Stone IPA ( Stone Brewing, Escondido CA ) $5 per 22oz bottle
3x Ruination IPA (again, stone brewing ) $6 per 22oz bottle
Bell's Two Hearted IPA (bells brewery, k-zoo mich), $8 a 6pack

and a few other shit brews to drink up when i'm already sloshed and can't taste the good stuff.

All the good beers are in michigan, boys.... i was at the Nashville rally last weekend and my homebrewer friend was relocating to the western half of michigan to become a hops farmer and brew his own shit. Arcadia, New Holland, Dark Horse, Bells, ...it's the capital of good beers out there.

Budweiser tastes like bottled cat piss, and it gives me the worst case of the shits ever - hence the term "Bud Mud". If I'm going to drink cheap American brew, I'll stick with Yuengling or Pabst Blue Ribbon. As far as drinking microbrews, it's not a matter of being more "skinhead" than the other guy; most of the time the beer has a higher alcohol percentage and the taste is usually better. Brews like Ommegang and Three Philosophers from Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY pack a punch and they're made semi-locally; also Brooklyn Brewery's Double Chocolate Stout is the best dessert beer ever made. Why drink a case of stuff that's gonna make me piss every five minutes, tastes like ass and even after 24 is only gonna give me a slight buzz when instead you can drink 3 or 4 bottles of quality beer that's gonna knock ya on your ass?

I tend to agree. I'll say it ...if i DON'T want to get fucked up or terribly hungover the next day, i'll drink bud light as it's akin to drinking water and i need to down at LEAST 12-14 of them before i start feeling anything. (im an alcoholic) That said, they're quite refreshing in a watery type of way ...good for hot summer days after i mowed the lawn or something.

Honestly, i can't really taste beer anymore unless it's EXCEPTIONALLY hoppy ..and that's why i buy the IPA's that i do. I like a beer that tastes really bitter like a grapefruit when i drink it.

Also you may remember the thread i started last year about the studies that had been released saying that Hops in beer was a cancer-preventative ....PARTICULARLY prostrate cancer...and over-hopped / continuously hopped beers like IPA act as little prostrate-cancer-prevention drinks. Being that my grandfather died of it, it's a nice little added bonus of liking the beers that i drink

A stone IPA is like 8% beer x 22 oz for $4.99. Since Bud Light is probably around 3.5% alcohol, it's almost like i'm drinking a 6 pack twice as fast, having to piss half as much, getting fucked up twice as fast, and having it actually taste like something. ( plus the prostate thing ) ... Gimme the more expensive beer.

Incidentally, Arrogant Bastard Ale is made by the Stone brewing company, which make Stone IPA and Ruination IPA ... and i HIGHLY advise you try both of them. I haven't had arrogant bastard since i switched over to these...and if the store across the street has A.B. ale, they'll have these two as well.

Not necessarily. My local supermarkets carry AB and usually Stone IPA, but I've never seen Ruination.

The Stone IPA is great stuff for people who like hoppy beer. It's like a punch in the mouth, it's so strong. Love it.

The Randall is what they call it. It totally changes the way the beer tastes. It also reduces the amount of carbonation so you almost get a cask conditioned effect. Fantastic. Locally, I get Victory Brewing company's Hop Wallop. It's only 8.5%, so I sometimes make a half and half with their imperial stout which is 9.1%.
