back by popular demand, special brew, top night assured!Coventry’s 2-tone heroes Special Brew will once again be playing live in Ashbourne on Friday 12th March at The Green Man. The 2 tone tradition lives on in the shape of Special Brew, and the passion for their genre, is evident as they skank their way through a 2 tone sea of hits, playing over thirty classics.
Specials, Bad Manners, Madness, The Beat and The Selecter are all taken care of thanks to the superb musicianship of the eight piece band, which includes a magical brass section. Forget “tribute band” forget even “cover band” it’s pointless pigeonholing them, because Special Brew are as inventive, dynamic and exciting as any band can be, they have had the honour of performing with Neville Staples of the Specials and Gappa Hendrickson of The Selecter, they have also released an album called versions. The band themselves say there is something special about playing in Ashbourne, and cannot wait to come back and soak up the atmosphere. It is definitely a night not to be missed if you love the 2 tone era, or even if your just a lover of great live music, and once again it is sure to be a packed house.
