i see alot of non uk skins giving the v sign, do you ever wonder where it came from...well i did and this is what i found out.

it all came about from years ago, during the 100 year war with britain and france.
During this war we had long bow men and they were feared by the french(who arent the french scared of).
If the french captured any english they would cut of they're 1st and second fingers so he couldent use a bow ever again.
So when any british bow men saw the french on a battle field they would give them the v sign to let them know thwy still had the 2 bow fingers.
Just a bit of nonsense i thought i'd share, im bored and brettagal said i was on a promise tonight and the cow fell asleep haha. women eh

I thought that's where the middle finger came from. I figured the "V" was for victory. Like in Japan... you know Ryu and Ken.

You forgot to mention that the long bows used to pierce the French Knights armor had to be made from a stronger wood to handle the stress. The Yue tree. Thus archers had to pull back with 2 fingers, instead of just pinching the string with the thumb and index finger. And so came about the phrase to "pluck yue".After many years people adopted the practice of just throwing up the middle finger (after 1776) as a show of defiance, cuz that was the one ya needed to pull back the long bows.It was a little guy standing up to a gaint. And the phrase "pluck yue" became...yeah,you guessed it.
Fuck You.

Fuck You.Great story, but probably more of an "urban legend" than historical fact...
The "finger" probably goes back 2500 years or so:
