Ok, yeah. Then film noir in general should be good. Off the top of my head: Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, Key Largo, M, Seven, Taxi Driver, pretty much all of Tarantino's films, Kung Fu Hustle, Death to Smoochy (although that's more dark comedy), 12 Monkeys, David Lynch's stuff.... uh.. yeah. Some of my favorites...

Not a gangster flick,but if you like Tarantino flicks.Check out The Final Comedown.Staring Billy Dee Williams.Films like this is where he got his style from.You'll know it as soon as you see it.this is one of the best Blacksploitation flicks I've ever seen.It's a classic.

Not a movie, per se, but available on DVD ... The Sopranos is fantastic. Seasons 1 thru 5 are available here, not sure where you are, but you should probably be able to get 'em.

theres two versions i believe. the one i saw was the unrated so the cleaned up one might be different.

as for gummo, i had the pleasure of watching that one once when i was baked and drunk... very interesting flick to say the least. "fucking rabbit! this fucking rabbit here smells like PUSSY". good stuff haha.
