I like PCTools.com 's spyware doctor.

Go download and install it and i might be nice enough to give you a legit code with which to register it.

I've run without any spyware / adware / antivirus protection on my home computer for years without any problem. It's all a matter of knowing what's fake, what's real, what all those security messages mean ...and not to just always click "yes, accept" etc...

I could give a brand new, totally protected computer to one of our outside sales guys, and he could somehow completely infect the thing until it was unusable in about 15 minutes, though, enough to require a full OS reload.

I don't know how those idiots do it.

Fuck all that shit: Hitman Pro
It includes like 5 or 6 adware removal tools.

Or just get Spybot Search & Destroy. That shit works. I've been using it for a couple of years.

The reason you can't update ad-aware is because it's being blocked. Try house-call which is an online virus scanner
