is there any way to find out where its coming from. i got an auspicious one the other day, replied and got nothing in return. just curious people. you know i suck at the interweb stuff.

no a text that comes to youre phone from a computer. i think they use an im account. it comes up as numbers, but not a phone number.

they have IM programs that are designed to message cell phones.

No way to track it - you can make up the return numbers when you text a phone from a computer - not worth the time and energy to track it usually

You should get a series of numbers or an email address as the from field on the text message, what is that number?

Yeah, it's easy to spoof like email or the http request cycle.

i know from aim you can send messages to peoples phone numbers cause my ex did it non stop and ran up my fucking bill

I got one last week from someone using google..

the # read: 1010100002

FRM:sms-extension-user@google.com

then the subject and message


not sure if those dashes are just because my phone's screen is too small or because they're supposed to be there.

I've never seen any way to reverse look them up since I think those codes are issued on the spot and probably arent saved.
