well, thats one way of lookin at it I 'spose....of course, theres always the theory that what was once dubbed 'hardcore" doesn't even exist anymore...unless you just lump any new fast metal band into that category.

I don't think there isn't any real "hardcore" left; I just think different things branched off from the original few bands and the term hardcore became an umbrella term for a lot of different bands that didn't fall into other categories. I guess I could see the argument when you compare a band like the Circle Jerks with a band like Fury of Five, but there are plenty of bands out there that have that "old school" sound. Check out Angels with Filthy Souls. We played a show with them on Saturday.
