Well I think I'm gonna give it a shot. I've got a big black star on my elbow I got when I was a teen to cover up badly done spider-webs; I'm finely gonna try to get it faded or removed. Everyone I talked to recommended this cream stuff next to laser ...

I'm gonna give the 4 month supply a try as a trial session. Gonna buy a desposible camera and take a pic every 2 weeks, if it works I'll post the pics/If not well then it's time to see a dermatologist. I'm gonna see if this stuff really works.

P.S. And yes the star really does bother me.

There are whiteish inks out there too that bust away colored ink and then there is a reaction that makes you like bleed all the ink out and it works. I know its super painfull and you have to do it a couple times.

Oh man, that stuff - Spaulding used to sell it, it was like white pigment with a little boric acid or something in the mix to irritate the fuck out of your skin and make it reject everything in there.

You were stupid enough to get it, you're gonna pay to get it off - your only real choice is whether you pay in terms of money to use one of the good methods (laser, saline flush, excision) and end up with skin that you can put nice ink onto afterwards, or pay in terms of pain and scar tissue (dermabrasion).

long story, but i had a scar on my lip treated by lasers (hurt like a fucking bitch) it took about 7-8 appointment to get get it down to an acceptable level. insurance covered it, but i think it should have only been about $100 per appointment, then again the original scar was only about the size of a finger nail.

Ok hand tattoos first:

I had originally planned on just covering them so the artist used white ink and peroxcide over........faded somewhat ........after much thought(another year or 2) I wanted FULL removal(a cover up wouldve been MUCH larger than original tattoos).....went to Derm....Full consult and they used the laser over the tattoos to see what would come out..HURT...HURT bad!:frown:
*HOWEVER* pretty amazing result for the first go SO I,after healing(you are getting 3rd degree burns on your body....no two ways about it....Ive heard different lasers hurt less but the one that was used on me was a bitch).

Derm and I worked out that Id pay $100 every visit AND hed work on as MANY as I wanted!!!!..........Hands were done in three sessions another tattoo needed an extra so it was 4 sessions total = $400......SOooooooo worth it,for me at least,despite the pain(esp. hands as youre not suppoed to get the treated area wet.....HELLO?? I have to get my hands wet!!!)

New Derm here in my area(only tattoo removal Doctor near me) is kind of a dick..........they CHARGE for the consult but only charge $140 per session and the Nurse said I can get as much done at a time but we'll see..........
Im NOT looking forward to the pain....hurts worse than ANY tattoo but for me its worth it as Ive explained in previous threads..........

actually there was a bit of dirt traped in the lip from the accident, so the doctor said it would have been easier to remove a tattoo of that size instead of what i had. but it came out nice.

Oh as for scarring.............My one hand tatt scarred(it looks like an Iron Cross scar!!! Fuck it! Its looks better and less obvious than a black Iron Cross.......no one notices it or they think its a burn) BUT the others -POOF!-dissapeared totally!!!

a lot of tattoo artists are getting medlite lasers lately, and i know theres several people close to me that do it for like $150/session for as long as you can sit. and apparently it takes a fraction of the time to go over a tattoo with a laser

im going in a few weeks to get almost a half sleeve blasted, and i have heard that if you ice the area immediatley before getting a laser treatment it can drastically reduce the blistering? has anyone tried that?
