It's seriously fucking great over there. There are numerous big gigs. I would say at least 1 big show each month. Not to mention all the small shit going on in villages, towns, the middel of nowhere, etc.
That the 4-Skins will be playing Berlin says enough. ;)

My hometown is a bit like that, except punk.

Oi is almost non existant around here - when i end up going over there i will definately be having a look around then!

If you, more or less, have an idea on when you want to visit, let me know. I might be able to say if it's better to go a week or month earlier or whatever, to catch the nice shows.

Apparently, it's Steve 'H' Harmer and a couple of known early 80's Oi! band musicians.

That's why I ain't fucking going. If I go, they won't play... it'll just be some fucking who's who 4skins modern Oi! band karaoke

I can assure you 1000% that this is a no joke modern 4 skins Oi! band!!, being one of the parties involved in sorting out the reforming of the band, i can tell you it has taken alot of time and effort to get everything right and if it wasn't then it wouldn't be happening!!

All of the old members have been asked to do it and no one has been missed out, I talked in length with Tom Hoxton to persuade him to do the gigs but he was addamant that he would not be doing it and so you have to respect that but it will not take anything away from the show!!

You will see as we have gone to great lengths to get the right musicians from that era and of course the greatest and by most rated as the one & only real singer of the Original 4 Skins "Gary Hodges".

It seems that alot of people on this site either don't realise or are maybe are too young to really appreciate the impact and the contribution that the 4 skins made to the whole skinhead culture back in the early days of Oi! so much so that we have been knocked back by 5 major venues here in the UK and as soon as you mention the bands name they shit their pants and decline or it gets refused by the police even though it's fucking 26 years later!!

A few other pointers, most of the Original and considered classic 4 skins songs were written and tuned by Gary Hodges (Vocals) and Steve "H" Harmer (Original Bassist) when Tom Hoxton was then playing originally on guitar, also there will be new material from Original band members released later this year and the East Coast Oi! Festival will be live recorded and available on CD for supporters that either can't travel or afford to come to this reunion.

This is the Oi! festival that all europeans have been dreaming of for so long, finances allowing, you lucky fuckers have got it right on your doorstep and i don't think you will ever get something as great as this again as Gary H has said that it will probably be for 2008 only!!!

So come on everyone, If your true skinheads, ex-skinheads or lovers of Oi! you will get behind the movement and come out and support all the bands at what will in my opinion be one of the greatest Oi! festivals in the history of skinheads and Oi! music ever for you to enjoy live!!!

Hopefully We'll See Most Of You There!!!

Wasnt H just in the band for a month of two in reality, 1 gig at the Bridgehouse and the 2 recordings for the Oi album? I thought he was involved in 4 tracks namely Chaos, Wonderful World, ACAB and Jealousy? One Law for them, 1984, Sorry etc all came later with the next line-up? Your post seems to suggest that the classic songs were written by Hodges and H....whilst Hoxton Tom was merely on guitar?

milky

Hi Mate

Not suggesting anything of the sort and apologies if it came accross that way, Infact Hoxton has my full respect for carrying on the 4 skins and was the only early member for carrying them on even though it's very hard to carry any band on when you lose your frontman as i'm sure you will agree!

I also know that Hoxton was responsible for quite a few of the songs which came a bit later and it would be nice if Callum (McCourt) whos a member on here could badger big Tom and find out exactly which ones.

I was responding to a post posted somewhere on here and the point I was trying to make was that most of the classic 4 skins songs were done and dusted before Gary Hodges left in 1982 and between him Steve H & Hoxton they had already penned the classics, infact i have seen 6 new songs already which may make it onto a new 4 skins material based CD at some stage and that have been penned by Harmer, also he did "Glory days" off the kings of streetpunk 2007 !!

Thanks for sorting that out...I probably got the wrong end of the stick!

Would be good to know, for an old anorak like me, who wrote what but I do remember from fanzines and Sounds at the time that H contributed to just those 4 songs, Chaos, ACAB, Jealousy and Wonderful World....

Hodges and Hoxton wrote Sorry, 1984, Clockwork Skinhead, Yesterdays Heroes, Brave New World, Evil, I dont wanna die, Summer Holiday and theres a couple of tracks on a live lp Whatcha gonna do about it

The rest were mainly Hoxton with input from either Panther or Roi

Callum
Does youre old man remember?
