This is what happens when parents buy their kids things they don't need. Parents should stick to the essentials and stop wasting money frivolously on bullshit just to get their kids to like them.

This is what happens when parents buy their kids things they don't need. Parents should stick to the essentials and stop wasting money frivolously on bullshit just to get their kids to like them.

I wish my dad bought me a Dirt bike when i was a kid. :wink:

A quad is something the whole family can use so it isn't really spending money frivolously. Aquadots are bullshit and not necessary.

Exactly. Nowadays everyone's worried that the kids'll get hurt if they let them play around outside.... of course they will! Broken arms, broken legs, gashed open knees, ripped up jeans, that's why kids heal fast!

We're getting a whole new generation of kids who don't understand what it's like to get hurt AND who are used to getting instant gratification. Bad combination.

Toys are stupid. I was walking aimlessly around target last night trying to figure out what to get my so for his birthday. I kept telling Manuel all this shit is dumb, he is going to play with it for 5 minutes and toss it on his closet.

The boys all into starting a band so I ended up getting him a kid sized electric guitar and an amp, oh yes and the most important part..headphones:wink:

I should be multi quoting, but meh. Yes, I see so many fat little shit kids. My older two are always outside, we have a big swing set and a trampoline that have been pirate ships and battle fields.

And, I have such a hard time buying the baby any toys right now, I have had more than one recalled. Shes 7 months and the first place anything she picks up goes right in her mouth. Lately shes been playing with facecloths and measuring cups and the likes. Pretty sad when you have to constantly worry about the toys you buy being safe.

I cant imagine any electrical devices being safe for kids. When I was younger all the answers to life seemed to be deep inside the A/C wall socket, all I could thing about was getting into that thing.

The only TV show I was allowed to watch was Star Trek, video games were forbidden, and If I was inside I had to be reading. I spent hours outside on my bike, the park, \"the fighting hill\", peoples yards etc.

My girlfriend works at Wal-mart and the day that they received the recall order to have all the aquadots stuff pulled, a bunch of teenagers kept coming in asking if they had any to sell. Apparently they ran out of robatussin and ready whip and needed to find something else to get high with.

I totally agree. Kids are spending so much time inside that their not learning to deal with the cuts and bruises of life. Schoolyard scraps, bike wrecks, these things are important. Taking the hits that life dishes out is a huge part of growing up. Hell, my stepbrother spent his whole childhood holed up in his room, and now he's a wreck.
