Why PBR??? I just don't get it. Of all the shitty beers out there.... PBR? I can see drinking it if you're broke and it's on special or if it's product loyalty because you were raised on it but it's like a cultural phenomenon. I wouldn't use that piss to cook with. I like Warsteiner's motto - Life's too short to drink cheap beer

so if you had 5 bucks on you, and you were in a bar that had $ PBR drafts you would buy 1 beer instead of getting 5 drafts?

I'd dig in his tip jar when his back was turned and never come back. Drink is for drunk, it's not a toy or a status symbol. The only thing better than cheap drink is free drink and I could give two shits about looking fancy. That's what you call pragmatism.

It was the first time I ever heard the name so I told him we don't serve Chinese beer here. Pennsylvania people live in a fucking bubble.

when i lived in richmond, there used to be a local brewery called main st. brew co. 2 skins worked there and could get us 2 free kegs each every weekend for us to party down to.
plus they did all these seasonal 6 pack beers that in the markets would cost 599 or more. go to the retail shop at the brewery and a 6 pack was 399.
the cool thing was, you could get the scottish ale one week and it would be awesome, the next week, it would be smoky as hell. that was the only drawback.
but knowing i was supporting a local skin and his family made it worth while.
then i became good friends with both brewmasters at richbrau. they make good beer there too. the golden lager, porter and espresso stout are excellent.

yuengling used to be great when it was union made, cheaper than bud, and not mass distributed. when i was living down the shore, i used to drink that shit all the time because it was cheap and exceptionally good. when i visited my parents (an hour north in north NJ) nobody had ever heard of it, let alone stocked it. once they started mass distribution, broke the union and jacked up the price, everything went to shit. it gives me insta-headache now and tastes like milwaukee's best...namely, terrible.

But drinking it from a proper glass usually helps for me...
In Germany its fine and I managed to get an original glass so I drink it at home as supermarkets now sell it and I found a little shop near me that sells obscure hefe...nice stuff..

American beer is cheap no matter what. A 'cheap' 24 in Canada is $26.40.

If I'm drinking to get drunk, I go for cheap, and PBR is my beer of choice. Occasionally I'll want something just for the taste, and I usually get something new every time.

SABMiller bought the Dutch Grolsch.
Maybe you guess get lucky and will be buying that sweet (well, actually bitter) liquid cheaper and more often!

Riiiight. I've never bought Sam Adams anything so I can't compare prices with. I stand by saying that it's cheaper in the States then it is in Canada. Son.

Haha that cracks me up. When we got back from Iraq on Sunday, my buddy's dad was waiting with 2 12 packs of pbr and a bottle of jack. It was the greatest beer of my life. Like a bunch of other people have already said, when you're drinking to get drunk, beer is fucking beer.

They aren't? yeah I know the aren't BUT alot of Canadians sure as fuck drive slow when they come to florida in the winter. Most times when I'm stuck behind someone , they have Ontario plates. Holy fuck, teach your countryfolk how to drive.

It's because they're fucking O-L-D.
Cotton tops drive slow no matter where they're from. I plan to drive EXTRA fast when I reach 65 to disprove that stereotype.

If some faggot bartender gave me guinness in water when I ordered a bud, id take every tip on the bar and leave.
I used to really hate PBR. Recently I've started drinking it and like it a lot more than Keystone. I also like Old Mil, but cant find it around here.
So, Mr. Threadstarter, what is it you like to drink? I'm a beer snob too, I just know when I'm drinking, and when I'm tasting.

I drank alot of Seahag IPA on saturday night. It was the first time I tried, it was good. Coopers Pale ale is good but I don't think it really tastes like a pale ale. I like Sierra Nevada.
The bartender was a sweet little Scottish lady named Tess and the costumer was a dipshit regarding the guinness with water thing.
As far as faggot bartenders go, if I order a drink and have to wait for some assclown to do his juggling act with the bottles before I get my drink, he'd get goofed on for it. I don't care if you can shoot fireballs from your ass, give me my fucking drink. TGIFridays does that shit.

I usually don't go to bars that often, since there is only two in my local area that would even be worth going to, and one is my place of employment. I usually don't like hanging out at my work on a day off, but when I'm there I get drinks for a $1. I'll pick up better beers than PBR when I'm there. If I'm I'm drinking anywhere else, I don't usually have the money to spend on high end beers, so buying a Black Label or a PBR will be the order of the day. Its cheap, refreshing, contains alcohol, and doesn't rot my gut like High Life or Bud (I always get the worst heart burn from them). If I'm going to a house party I'll usually get a six pack or twelve pack of better quality beer like Sam Adams or something from a local brewery to drink personally and share amongst friends. I'll also bring a case of the previously mentioned Black Label or PBR for the other party goers to mooch off of. I keep my home fridge stocked with some quality beer.
