View Full Version : dumbass jean Q
so its close to winter and i needed some new jeans. got two new pairs of 501s. put them on, and the bottom of the pants, after being cuffed once are huge. did they start making them different or something? they are like stuck to once side of my leg and the rest of the jean is on the other side, so when i walk it looks like i have fucking bell bottoms on. im a pretty big guy, so i cant really get a smaller size than what ive got. what the fucks going on at levis? am i the only person that has this problem with new jeans? im not even sure that these are even shrink to fit either

Haha, bell bottoms are all the rage in the skinhead scene, especially amongst the men. Don't change a thing.

I stopped wearing 501s...they started fucking with em. Now i wear some other ones...517s or some shit...work cut, dark dark blue, shrink to fit. comfy as hell, tougher and bigger pockets.
i just searched around the internet for a while...how cool am i..looking up jean info online
anyways, yeah they made them loose fitting and baggier to 'fit the times' or whatever, sweet ive always wanted to be 50 cent.

Just taper 'em yourself. If they fit OK in the thighs, then just measure around the biggest part of your calf, add a half inch, and then divide by two. If your calf is 18 inches around at the widest point, you'll end up with 9 1/4 inches.
Turn the jeans inside out, put 'em on and make a chalk mark on the outside seams where your knees are, then lay them out flat with measure 9 1/4" from the inside seam. Use your chalk to make a line from that point to the outside of the jeans where your knee was.
Then run 'em through the sewing machine, once along the line, and once more about 1/8" to the outside of it.
Cut off any excess material another 1/8" from the outside stitch, then run them through one last time with a diagonal stitch across the edge to stop them from fraying. Wash 'em to get rid of the chalk, and you're done.

505s are the bizzomb but sometimes short are too short and regulars are too long. I also hate the taylored look..stupid jeans. I'll pretty much buy any that look and fit good though, Levis aren't the only brand out there.

Who cares if your jeans look wide at the bottom?...expecially if you're fat, tapering them is going to look more ridiculous. Bell bottoms, whatever...where em out and kick anyone's ass who tries to say anything.
On the other hand, they may be shrink to fit, in which case, be prepared for a lot of ironing

no i'm pretty sure the baggypant-skinhead thing went out in the 90's. i just go to goodwill, try shit on till something fits that doesn't scream ghetto diva too much, and taper them if they need them. oh and you should learn to sew chubs. it aint that hard. turn them inside out and put them on, saftey pin the bottoms to fit, take them off and (heres the really hard part) put some thread in a needle (dollar store) and put it in and out of the pants all the way up and down till they are secure. if you're lucky like me you have a loving mom who will take you to the gap at christmas and get some sexy stretch jeans that show your pubes! another annoying trait in modern jeans.

or let taper them if you don't wanna touch it yourself!
i am too stupid too for holding a needle (funny: i can repair a hole in a sock really well...but sewing a line looks ridiculous outta my hand...) so i found a taylor in the neighbour city to do it cheaply...

I wear 501's and 550's. I don't really have a bottom legging problem, I just hate how small the pockets are and sometimes the crotch area can get a bit tight.

hahahahaa. great...
but i've seen them at our place as mens pants, too, although differently tailored then the girls pants...i tried them cause girls 550 you don't get anymore...but it was visible that they are for men...
now that here the fashion went away from the bell bottom to the skinny jeans, it's worth nothing, at least for me,
cause i don't want to wear jeans, that i can buy tapered leg now, but still with this fucking low rises...
so for now i change the whole time 3 pairs of jeans now...
