Yesterday I noticed bumpy things on my dogs back, and shes shedding like a mo fo right now so I figured I just have to brush her, and the bumps were fur that needed to come out. I took her outside with the brush and after a few strokes down her back there was blood all over her fur. Upon further inspection, some mother fucker got her with a BBgun. I left her outside in her run for a few hours yesterday while I was out and she didn't act weird or anything when I got home and brought her back inside.

I called the vet and he told me to swing by and pick her up an antibiotic and asked if I took out pellets. I got one out but she was none to happy about it. He told me to leave her be, they would work themselves out.

Who in the fuck thinks its fun to shoot at a dog that is securely penned in her own yard with no way of getting out? Fucking makes me sick. I dont even know if its worth it to file a police report.

I think you should leave your dog as bait for the assholes that did it, and get a bunch of guys to beat the fuck out of them when you find out who they are. But dont let them shoot the dog again, of course.

They had not even crossed my mind. It could have been, they have called animal control on me for having a pit bull loose, and shes a greatdane. I cant even play ball in the field behind my house anymore because they call the cops on me for having an unleashed dog. She has never done anything to them but bark, and never gone in their yard. The rescue group warned me she was funny with black people. But there is a black guy who waits with his kids to catch the school bus in the morning and she loves him.

Maybe she brought it on herself, she is kind of a bully in the fact that if she knows a person is scared of her she keeps herself between that person and me and the kids and barks. She also knows what *watch him* means.

Opinions from dog people welcome, just refrain from calling me a stupid fuck because that would make me cry.

Because it's a Great Dane and you said it does bark at people, it's usually a good assumption that people are scared of the dog.

Not siding with the people on this, because shooting dogs randomly is fucking retarded and stupid. I know from experience though that I've killed loose dogs that barked at me and came at me. So they might just have a phobia and assume barking means angry.

Try to settle down the barking? I might just be assuming that it barks more then it does though.

I'd definantly file a police report on it. Incase it happens again and you catch the person, and don't care to handle it yourself.

i'd report it, your dog may not be the only one.if its just a random shooting, other pets may have been shot, if thats the case the animal welfare may be more keen to investigate.
im still a bit suspicious about those new neighbours of yours, they seem to have been the only ones who have a problem with your dog.

Im all for counter sniper tactics. Get a bbgun as well, let the dog run free and watch for the assailant to come out. Chances are, if you shoot'em in the neck a couple times they wouldnt say anything because they know YOU know what they did.
