It seems a little bit odd though, a pitcher going out to pitch the first inning of the World Series, the weather is good no rain to produce mud, the field is impecably manicured no loose debris anywhere. The only reason the issue was brought up in the first place is all the batters in the top of the first thought the ball was acting funny, then the camers shows the pitcher with something stuck in the palm of the pitcher's throwing hand. I don't think it has anything to do with Roger's ability to pitch at any time during the game. He did pitch and field one hell of a game. It was funny how he was jumping around on the mound during the game, running around in the dugout, pumping his arms and keeping the team rallied and energized throughout the whole game, then at the press conference, he acted all in pain, all bandaged up and rolling his head around suffering and groaning so much he had difficulty answering and shrugging off questions about why did the umpires made him wash his hands after pitching the first inning. I thought the whole thing was really funny. I think Kenny Rogers just opted for the less obvious pine tar in the palm over the too obvious running the electric cord from the dugout for the power sander in the back pocket.

On the Detroit news last night all they showed were Cardinals fans and radio jockeys complaining about Rogers cheating and whatnot. About how it was pine tar and he should have been ejected and the Cards would have never lost the game in that instance. Gay.
