For the small few who can dig it....my current group of what I've loved doing for many years: rocksteady harmony, acoustic stylee...

http://www.myspace.com/riddimandbruise

I am the lead singer on most songs and play guitar (poorly).
If you've got sensitive gaydar then watch out, but if you like kicking it with homies "Sitting in the Park" "On a Sunday Afternoon" and romancing the passing ladies, then....

Songs up are
"What's your name" (lowrider type oldies tune)
"Loving Pauper" (reggae/rocksteady)
"Monkey Man" (skinhead reggae)
"Artie Bella" (Ska)

i like it well enough, but is it that hard to get anacousitc bass? one of the best acoustic reggae songs in my opinion is the band take of motherless child by the wailers, you should do a cover of that. not bad though, i like artie bella

Thanks for the feedback....
No, it's not that hard to get an acoustic (I assume you mean upright?) bass-- I have one in storage somewhere. What's hard is carry that behemoth around. The idea of this group is just to be able to go out on the streetcorner or be at a party and BAM! , whip out this music that is kinda crappy, but also kinda cool because you just whipped it out like a porn star's schlong.

Yeah, back in the mid-90s I did a similar thing, but I played bass...it was also hard to sing at the same time while playing reggae-style bass or whatever.

So anyways...I'm trying to make this group as minimal as possible-- everybody sings, as few instruments as possible, jam out whenever we feel like it anywhere....
It's not the kind of music I'd personally want to listen to on a record. It's what I'd want to hear if I was walking down the street, tip toeing around the bums
