I got a new job and today I was trying to make some stuff work. They have a server that runs Windows Server 2003.
I tried setting it up to run as a print server and as a file server on which people can dump their stuff.
I set up all the stuff like permissions, user groups, etc. But for some reason I can't get the damn thing to work! I can't log onto it, no matter what I try. I shared the printer and some maps with Windows itself and also set the sharing stuff in the server software.
The server is located at server.company.local. I can see it from the workstations in the company LAN workgroup, but I can't reach it...
What could I be doing wrong? And does anybody know of a good site with some documentation. I know my way around computers and this isn't the first network or server I've ever set up. Fucking hate not getting it right.
