So this was an uneventful day dealing with this thing. This trojan/virus was pretty freaking resilient.

After reformatting, reinstalling, etc. this piece of shit still comes back. Than I tried to use VundoFix and Virtumundobegone with no results. I use spyware, spydoctor, lavasoft, and many other shit. Still around fucking with my computer.

Well, I finally fixed it with:

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Pretty cool Program)

Deckard's System Scanner (DSS)

You can find it all here: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=31881 (http://skinheads.net/forums/redirector.php?url=http%253A%252F%252Fforums.spybo t.info%252Fshowthread.php%253Ft%253D31881) I hope that will save someone some time and hassle one day. Now the only problem is I get this prompt coming up everytime I start my computer. I'm pretty sure everything is gone now since I've ran some programs to make sure. I wonder if anyone can lend me some advice on how to get rid of it.

Thanks in advanced.

Webroot Spysweeper in safe mode works everytime - Sometimes Spybot in safe mode will too - but I've had very good luck with the $20 Spysweeper...cheap price to pay.

I actually used SuperAntiSpyware to get rid of it. Very impressed with the program. I also believe it's free. Their slogan is something about taking out virus's byte by byte. It's a real long and tedious scan but it's worth it.

Duley noted on the Webroot Spysweeper. I will have to try it.

Was wondering if anyone would like to start a thread on reviewing certain maintaining/defending/performance enhancing software for our computers.

Like for instance I suggest using Acronis True Image for backing up your Operating System or anything you value on your comp. I wish I would've done it. I would hate to see any WSN'ers not posting because of computer problems.

I've been using Webroot Spysweeper and it kicks ass. Way better than Uniblue SpyEraser. Thanks for the advice.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question ...
my computer was slow and buggy (and adware popups kept appearing - very annoying) so I looked at this thread and downloaded the spy sweeper demo. It found a bunch of stuff (trojan horse plus the adware crap that I knew I had). Now I need to get the full version so it will quarantine all these files. No problem, but here's the thing. I'm a wee bit freaked out about using my credit card to get the full version. I'm sure it's OK, but I'd hate to get hosed because of being dumb and using my card online when I know I've got a bug.
Thoughts?

Thanks for that. I downloaded it and it picked up nearly 200 pieces of spyware. That was after running my usual anti-virus software only a couple of hours earlier. Cheers :hippy:

You can actually buy it at bestbuy and other computer stores like that for the same price usually - I saw it in CompUSA for $20 but since CompUSA went out of business that doesn't help much - check around, you should be able to find it..I would probably suggest you don't buy it from "THAT" computer if you have that much crap wrong with it - just safer to pick up the CD from a computer store more than likely. ;)

Cool. Thanks. That's kind of what I thought, but I didn't know if I was just being a ninny! :)
I'll check around for a "hard" copy. Thanks for your help! :)
