Is there a way to do this?

You can record from cassette player to a cd-recorder. Or you can hook your cassette player on to your computer.
I would go for option 1.

I'm being 100% serious here, so don't laugh, what's a CD-Recorder? Do you have a link to a site where I could buy one?

It's like a regular CD-player, but you can also record with it. Just like a DVD-recorder.

OK, I see, I'll hit up a Best Buy and check it out. Thanks for the help.

Otherwise, get some good recording software and plug it in to your PC.

Here's a discription: http://www.polderbits.com/HowToConnect.htm

It's cheaper, but the quality may be a bit so-so.

Here's a really handy drive that you should check out...

Lots of other neat stuff on that site.

You can get a cheap 1/8" to 1/8" stereo cable...the size that plugs into a little headphone jack or the audio jacks on your computer...and then run that from the headphone out on your cassette player to the mic input on your computer. Then get some free software from download.com and record it like that, split songs etc.

Works, but I'd rather go with these:

Yeah, but most computers don'T have RCA inputs.

1/8 <-> 1/8 is the way to go. But get a decent cable - you'd be amazed how much that can change the sound quality.

The minijack would go in the computer. ;)

1/8 = Minijack?

1/8 = Minijack?yeah its a 1/8" jack, or mini jack. But if he's doing it from a portable casette player it wont have RCA jacks...and most cassette decks have headphone out which will be 1/8"
