I was gunna be all cool and show you down and then i looked all over download.com and couldnt find any that were free. There are some "free to try" ones though.

if Mpeg is like M4a, which i thought it was, Itunes does it. but i'm not a computery guy so fucked if i know the difference.

I use Adobe Premier.

Not free - but freely available via torrent.

BRE is right, iTunes will convert it when you place the files in your library.

I'm pretty sure iTunes doesn't support Windows Media files.

TMPGENC will convert .wmv to .mpeg I believe, and it's free.
