ok just got my cherry popped, first tat on my forearm. as far as the coloring, obviously the black outline, and a lot of green and grey. question is, how much peeling should there be after 3 days since gettin the tat done? it looks like a healing sunburn now, with the amount of sloughing of skin there is...and what comes off has definitely a good amt of ink contained therein...gonnna keep it lubed up for now with more of the AnD cream they gave me and then jergens orsomethin...i frankly love the design (pics to come) and enjoy how bright the coloration is...how can i maintain the integrity of my job here? help!!

If it's just flaking you're sweet. Yeah there may be some colour in it but that's not the same as real fallout. Solid scabbing is what you don't want.

As in the color falling/coming out of your tat in lumps.
Put some pics up!
When you get REALLY ITCHY, remember not to scratch! Put ice on it instead. It's the only thing that helps me.
P.S. Don't scratch!

Keep it out of the sun as much as possible, and don't pick at it. In fact, don't touch it at all.

If its peeling, quit using A&D and switch to moisturizer. Should be healed enough by now... provided there are no big scabs or anything.
C'mon tae fuck - ye cant make a post about yer new ink and not put up a picture...........otherwise we will have to start guessing what it is.
I bet its an arrow pointing to your hand with the text 'wanking spanner'

I hear different shit all the time, I'm just sayin what my artist tells me. He says to keep it dry for 3 days and than use fragrance free Jergens everyday after.

Of course yer gonna trust yer artist and not some guy off the net, but that is seriously bad advice. Hoon? HOO-OON!
Dry scabs can lead to a loss of ink so use moisturiser several times a day. Washing prevents infection and dry skin accumulation which is pretty important in the first coupla days. Thats what i reckon anyway...........been doin it that way for years and all of mine have healed nice and sharp.

I have to agree with the Doc. I have 30 something tats & have always washed them & then put lotion on. I can only use the Cetaphil lotion. It's easy on my baby soft senstive skin.

Don't wash it....put non-perfume mosturizer (personally I prefer vitamin E gel tablets) on at least 3 times a day and when you have a shower/bath do not put soap on it....just wash around it.
