A new teacher starts her first day at a school in South London. To get on with the kids she tells them a little about herself. She tells the class she supports Manchester United then asks how many of the pupils support Man Utd. Every pupil puts their hand up except one.
"Why don't you support Man Utd" asks the teacher.
"Coz I'm a Palace fan." replies the kid.
"But why are you a Palace fan?"
"Coz my Dad is, my mum is and our family always has been."
"Well" says the teacher "You don't have to follow your parents and do everything they do. What if your parents were c*nts, what would that make you ?"
The kid replies "A Man Utd fan!"

They never been in the top division before and they won one and lost one so far so it'll be touch and go but I think Reading are at home so they'll have the advantage...

You can get 9/2 on Man City beating Arsenal this Saturday. The bookies are quite rightly only miserly on Arsenal winning at 8/13. I think you've got that one in the bag Swifts, unless City do a 'Middlesborough' on it.
Recent history between the two is:
2000 Arsenal 5-0 City
2001 City 0-4 Arsenal
2002 Arsenal 2-1 City
2003 City 1-5 Arsenal
2004 Arsenal 2-1 City
2004 City 0-1 Arsenal
2004 City 1-2 Arsenal (Carling Cup)
2005 Arsenal 1-1 City
2005 Arsenal 1-0 City
From the league games, City managed only 1 point from a possible 24. I can't see that improving this time around. Your £20 seems ok for the moment Swifto!

Oh and if you believe in history repeating itself - for Arsenal to win 5-0 or 5-1 you can get 80/1. Might have a Lady Godivas worth myself.

Well Swifts. Reading are currently 10th in the Premiership form guide, Man City are 17th. Reading have scored 4 so no problems there for them, but they have conceded 4 as well. City have conceded 3, scoring only the one goal so far.
I thought Reading a tad unlucky in their 2-1 defeat at Villa yesterday (Wednesday) after taking the lead at the Holt End. They beat Middlesborough on the opening day 3-2 (2-2 at half time) and of course Middlesborough have gone on to beat Chelsea since.
City of course lost 3-0 to Chelsea on the opening day and have since drawn with fancied outsiders Portsmouth 0-0.
The figures show a mixed bag. Reading create plenty of chances but their weakness is at the back. City have yet to kick into gear, but appear to be rectifying problems in defence at the expence of making those vital chances at the other end.
My betting head would say 1-1 as a likely result. BUT -- it is early doors in the season and a pattern has yet to develop to make predictions you'd want to bet your house on. I'll stick with the score draw though.

And just the final nail in your betting coffin. Reading beat Man City last night. Oh Swifts, those Gunners are real £20 bastards.
