Hammerlock & Hit n Run! That ought to be a good one, the Prophet Bar, another Deep Ellum bar/ concert hall. I wonder how long this one will last.

The Prophet Bar is owned by The Door. It is the old Tea Room on the other side of the old Ballroom. They opened it up to make some money from smaller shows and bar sales while praising Jesus on the other side.

I never liked the tea room, and would prefer shows at Reno's or Bar of Soap.

I haven't picked a venue yet to start booking shows at since The Darkside closed and RBC is soon to be shut down. I know Jessica over at BOS so I might do shows there once bands start touring again.

I was trying to get them on the Hammerlock show - I had emailed Jeremy (from Hit & Run) about it, but the guys are gonna be out of town for a wedding of their old bass player in corpus. I suggested he ask Dog Company to play (I've been friends with Matt and Joe for awhile).

We try to get out on the East Coast as much as possible, but going further south than Baltimore for a weekender, it costs too much in gas. Unless people want to start shelling out $300 to $500 guarantees for no name bands, not really worth it.

Yeah, it's definitely a catch 22. New and independent bands have to discover new ways to promote themselves without touring. It's not like 1981 where you could pile in a van and tour across the country, play shows to 300 kids in the middle of nowhere and make enough money so you didn't starve. We're lucky most times if we make enough money to get home let alone covering the cost to get to the venue. We're hoping in a few years when we're all making more money, DJ finishes his union apprenticeship and I'm done with grad school, that we'll be able to take a few weeks off and do a full US tour, and hopefully by that time we'll have some sort of resolution regarding transportation.

THE BEN COOKSEY TRIBUTE CONCERT IS CONFIRMED!

On Saturday, August 30th, friends, family and supporters of the late Ben Cooksey shall gather together for an event that will shake the streets of Coppell as we honor one of Dallas’ most talented bassists. All proceeds and donations will go toward a monument and placed in a memorial cemetery.

Ben Cooksey (AKA BC), passed away on July 4th, 2008. Ben played in local bands such as Roller, Azathoth, RPB, Brotherhood of the Serpent and Hit & Run. He is remembered by a legion of friends that wish to honor him by organizing a concert in his memory…….

Ben would want his friends and fans to see him off with an evening of Rock & Roll! WE SHALL DO EXACTLY THAT!

The Lone Star Country Club, located at 1839 E. Beltline Rd. Coppell, TX have agreed to open their doors for us as we remember the legacy of BC.
