A 25-year-old ex-con who stomped his daughter's grandmother to death smiled and chuckled Wednesday at learning he will be 85 years old before he's eligible for parole. Oakland County Circuit Judge Edward Sosnick said the death of Martha Wallace, 45, inside her Lyon Township home under the boots of Christopher Lucas was "one of the most brutal things I've seen." Sosnick sentenced Lucas to 60 to 100 years in prison for his second-degree murder conviction. While defense attorney Michael McCarthy asked the judge to consider the possibility of rehabilitation, Sosnick said a greater concern had to be protection of society and letting people know domestic violence is not acceptable.
