Geez....it's like a modern-day version of "The Tingler."
I think that was the name of the movie- the one where there was an electrical current running through the seats...

Yup, that's the one. My mom remembers going to see it and having the ever-loving shit scared out of her when they turned on the juice.

I wish there was something like that around today, though I'd imagine nowadays they'd lose any type of profit to lawsuits.

I guess it had a pretty lackluster opening weekend. With all the hype, I think the production company thought they had "Saving Private Ryan" or even another Star Wars on their hands, and completely forgot that the movie, from premise to script to final version, can't possibly be "good."

Well they do interactive movies at theme parks...mostly for kids I guess. They have air jets puff in your face, water mist spraying, stuff in seatbacks that poke at you and stuff. (I was at Disney a bunch of years ago with an ex and her kid...this is how I know this stuff)
I'd imagine commercial theaters won't do stuff like this because of the cost to rig the theaters, not to mention the possible lawsuits like you mention.
