ST. PETERSBURG - The rift is just a few years younger than the skinhead movement it tore apart. On one side are antiracist skinheads: youths who listen to ska bands and reggae, shave their heads, and fight for racial tolerance while disdaining hippies. Many call themselves sharps and accept minorities as members. On the other: racist skinheads. They espouse neo-Nazi beliefs about the racial superiority of whites and hate minorities. They shave their heads as well and sometimes listen to the same music as sharps. On New Year's Day, that long-running feud spilled onto the streets of downtown St. Petersburg. READ MORE...
