That's awesome! My daughter got the "best speller" award in her class last year (1st grade).. they didn't have any spelling bees yet. I just wish she'd pick up on 10 +3 = 13 a little faster :) Girls do better in languages/reading in general.
Yay for your little girl!

Congrats to your little girl!!!
I was just like that. I would have my parents give me random spelling tests on short road trips and stuff. Now I'm a spelling and grammar nazi.

Oh yeah we hung that baby on the fridge as soon as we got home. We had to take down all the art she did from Kindergarden.

Haha - must be cool. One thing my parents did for me when I was a kid was to use books as rewards (I could stay up as late as I wanted if I was reading). Paid off in decent grades later.
Looking forward to the school thing - but got a few yearsw before that comes around :D

Great way to start off in school! Hopefully that'll serve as a nice little confidence builder and your kid will keep on that same track.

My daughter isn't in school yet she's only 3, but she's really smart for her age. She can write her 1st name and most of the letters in the alphabet. When my son was her age I had alot of trouble getting him to write or even pay attention.
Congrats.

Do your kids go to a year round school? My son starts school then to.

Mine don't. Last year they went back in August. Michigan passed a new law this year, that school can't start before Labor Day.
