I saw Avatar at the midnight showing at IMAX 3D and that shit blew me away! Really great work with the colors. I had a gift card so I saved myself the $18.

Just watch "9" last night, it's no "Nightmare before christmas" but was well done. I also watched Terminator Salvation which was so...so, but the last movie that really had me on the seat of my pants though was "District 9" I honestly was tensed up throughout the whole movie, I don't remember the last tiem I had a reaction like that, usually my attention wanders to other things but this film kept me wanting more.

I ain't no fan of Ian Dury or none of that so it distracted me a bit thinking 'I don't really give a monkeys about this geezer...' but it was a pukka film, cinematography is excellent, the acting was top class, and a real interesting insight into someone who proper fought against the odds for their dreams.

Let me guess, she couldn't handle the shaky camera? On DVD it wasn't that bad. Taken was pretty good. Liam Neeson looked to be in rough shape though. He almost looked sickly.

Yeah, that's exactly it. I have to say the camera work in the first 20 - 30 minutes is shakier than the rest of the movie, which is strange considering they're running around while shit blows up for the latter. Yeah, Neeson did seem kind of fragile for all the shit he was doing but it was still awesome.

Taken was a great movie. That's about the first time where pretty much everybody gets what is coming to them in a satisfactory way.

I just finished watching the 2005 War of the Worlds, and as was the case with the first viewing years ago, it's a very shoddily written script.

I just saw 'Seul contre tous' (English title: I stand alone) by Gaspar Noé. Great nihilistic and dark movie about a butcher that loses all controle in his life in France. Dark humor, verry gritty, verry depressing. Biggest part of the movie is a monologue, so expect no action, but spot on editing and great locations keep the film interesting. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0157016/

I watch so many movies though. In the past week or so Pandorum, Nine, Quadrophenia, Hollywoodland among others.
Pandorum is pretty damn suspenseful, it's worth seeing if you like Sci Fi and/or Horror.
Nine is really good CGI, pretty damn weird as well, though it smacks of propaganda for kids. The end is stupid IMO.

Quadrophenia

http://skinheads.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=322

“The next scene is the Brighton promenade, where the Mods have come together. Here we are introduced to "the ultimate Mod" Ace-Face (brilliantly performed by Sting). Jimmy is in Mod heaven. Now he's where he wants to be, among those who think as he does, chanting "We are the Mods!" and scaring passer-bys. Spotting some Rockers in a cafe, the entire horde descends upon their enemies. The fighting trashes the diner, and the Police are called. The Mods retreat to the beach to be confronted with the host of Rockers. And a beach fight ensues."

“The beach-front of Brighton explodes into a pitched-battle between Mods and Rockers. From a small punch-up in a cafe, thousands of excited teenagers looking for an excuse clash in what quickly becomes a riot. However, while the action on the screen has dissolved into chaos, director Franc Roddam keeps a firm hand on the proceedings, orchestrating the violence beautifully. Hence, while the riot is both nasty and quite scary, the film never loses sight of the principal figures (Jimmy and Steph at this point). In tandem with this massed brawl, Roddam is also quite successful at extracting some good performances on an individual level.”
