New York, NY (AHN) - Since 9/11, there has been a sudden revival of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), a white supremacist group with a long U.S. history. According to The Southern Poverty Law Center, the number of KKK groups increased from 110 in 2000 to 179 in 2005. Although 2006 statistics show that the group's numbers fell to 150, recent statistics show there are still areas in the U.S. where KKK involvement is increasing. This KKK revival has been linked to group's anti-immigration attitude toward the country's volatile immigration issue.In USA Today Deborah Lauter, the national civil rights director of The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), stated that the KKK "...use this immigration issue to bring in others who feel like America is under siege.
