anybody know of any decent Pit Bull breeders? I had to put down my two beautiful dogs at the beginning of Feb. I thought it would be a long time before I could think of a new pup but now I know I hate living without a dog.

How much are you willing to spend and what type of bloodlines are you looking for?

Mine were both red noses. One was fawn and white the other a red choc.
I would prefer either another red nose or a grey (blue), but any decent looking pit with good health and genes will do. I do not want to go with a razors edge or gotti as far as the blues are concerned because of the news about their breeding habits. I would like to keep the cost at a grand or less. thanks

I had just moved into a new house that was more "dog friendly". I had explained to the other people that lived there that I had 2 PIT BULLS and to leave them alone when I wasn't home. anyways the long and short of it is that I got a call at work that night that there was an accident involving my dogs. I got there and found that they had let them both out of my room and out of the house, and somebody pulled in the driveway too fast and hit them both (they were always side by side). I had to run to the emergency vet that night with the male and after 2 hrs. they decided that it wasn't worth it to try and keep him alive. The next morning I brought the feamle in and they said she wasn't as bad but she had neurological damage and would not be able to walk/stand ever again. Yeah it was the shittiest couple of days ever for me.

I'd check the springfield, worcester, boston, RI papers and the want ad. We have a very short, stocky, block headed white pit that we found in the worcester paper.

im a big fan of checking rescues and humane societys, there are so many dogs that need homes and theres alot of good ones. i dont know much about your area, but im sure a google search, craigslist, or the local paper could shed some light on the subject.

Hells yes. Especially for bully breeds, rescues are the way to go.

http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MA298.html - Braveheart Pitbull Rescue

Hope you can find one, I definitely believe a rescue dog is worth looking for before you buy from a breeder

yeah petfinder.com is where I found my female (Chowda) I love the idea of a rescue and I know there's a lot of pits in rescues but I want to raise one from a pup this time. If I find a very young one in a rescue I will jump on it, but I have experienced dog agression from a "bred to fight" Pit and I know how difficult it can be to keep them from ever being around another dog. And it is hard to keep explaining that it is an excellent dog other than it's abused qualities. Just trying to keep the heartbrake factor to a minimum with the next one.
