Both are 12 eye boots. Replicas of Corcoran WWII paratrooper combat boots. Made by Corcoran in The United States. Both cost around $150.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Sorry for the double-post but I forgot to ask this question.
Do you think it would be possible to darken the brown leather boots with black polish?

I'll buy that. Corcorans are good long lasting boots, a little tough on the break in, but comfortable once broken in. Impact absorbing insoles recommended if you're planning to actually jump out of planes with them on.

Corcorans are great.
Boil some water, pour it in each boot, let 'em cool a bit, put 'em on, lace 'em up real tight, and wear them dry.
Saves you some blisters.

Listen to this, it is not a joke, or a hoax this is what you do or you will take forver in breaking them in, although I would say you would be just as well off in running a full pot of water throught your coffeemaker and using that to fill your boots.
edit: you can use leather dye to chane brown boots to black and costs about a dollar or two in the same place you would find shoe polish

I had those when I was in the navy. The folks above aren't joking when they warn you about the breaking-in process. It sucks ass... btu when they're broken in and polished up they look amazing. I'm actually considering either trying to find my old pair from when I was in the navy (I think they're most likely in my mom's attic in storage, which involves a trip to Boston...), or just buying another pair. I have a pair of black Grinders, but I really dont like them as much as the cordovan ones I have and want to replace em.
As for polishing the brown ones with black polish, why would you? They arent cordovan so you wont make them look like oxblood, theyll just look like brown boots you put black polish on.

Whay would you buy replicas? Why not just get the real deal?
They weren't just WW2 boots, Airborne forces still wear them in Class As.

The brown ones? I never noticed............
On topic, they're good boots, I just wish they had steeltoes so I could wear them at work. They take a damn fine shine, but you might be better off going to a surplus store and finding some used ones for thirty bucks, that's what I usually do with military boots.

I've never done the boiling water deal. Is this a good idea for most boots, or are you suggesting this simply for the aforementioned.

I have a pair. The breaking in is a little tough, but tough it out and you'll be wearing personally one of the most comfortable boots around. The only downside is that the soles when worn down have no grip so you slide easily on ice or like mud. I actually gotta get mine resoled with some tread.

I have a pair in black, most people in hunting they say that boots in black have low quality leather so they sugest brown ot tan,in this case the color of the boots doesnt mean a thing on quality, when I was about to purchase the boots I noticed that the brown ones wer about 30% much expensive, any way I got the black ones,I have this pair since 3 yrs ago,I wear them at least 3 days per week, and they fill like walking on a mattress, also they have this old school look

Ive been wearing corcoran boots at least 5 days a week for 2 years now and that was the jump boots and they are great, like others have said they are a bitch to break in but after that your good to go. I just got some steel toe corcorans and they took less time to break in and are twice as comfortables(had to switch to steel-toe for my job) Yeah both are a bit pricey. And about the guy who wants to buy the ww2 brown and dye them black, why not just get the black ones to start out with? Anyway heres a link to the steel toe corcorans if your interested.http://www.lapolicegear.com/come10lestto.html

Standing by your man, or at least your sexual preference?
Listen faggot, this is pretty simple, you don't fit in here far as I can tell.
You've been a skinhead since 69 but no one knows you and you just blew in on the winds or the recent explosion of skinhead web sites. You make yourself sound all old school, claimed to run with some FCS cats got bagged, admitted you've licked piss, and you get naked with your male friends.
Beauty thing about all this is I don't even have to say shit. Every time you open your mouth (start typing I guess) you make yourself look worse.
You're an Airfarce trainee correct? SP? Couldn't man up enough to go to a combat arms MOS in the Army or Marines huh? Jesus and I wonder what your instructors are doing, Christ knows I didn't see a computer until I got home from infantry and airborne school.

Good fucking boots....you are going to do some serious short term damage to your feet breaking them in...don't go on any long fucking walks for a couple of months and if you gotta run from the cops...you are going to be in some serious fucking trouble it they aren't broken in first.

ok ok ok ok, been hunting them corcorans pretty long and it seems that it is better to order them straight from states. from my country its too hard to get anything too special like burgundy 3i martens so i quess you get my point.
only problem is, when you buy shoes and so on via internet, that you cant try them first. ye, those sizes should be "standard" but they vary from company to other.
so, dm's are something like universal; people who have corcorans and dm's, what size matches dm's size or are they just same?

$122. Look what a little searching does. I'm getting a pair of these, and had a pair I'd bought from my friend's dad for $20. He was 173d in Vietnam, they came in black, and they had a story to tell. But really, I do wish they came in Steel Toe. I'm still buyinga pair because they are absolutely great. Or, hell! Go to http://atthefront.com and look at the boots they've got. Cheaper, and grade A for reenactors.

why buy a pair of corcorans for $122 plus shipping when you can buy a pair of dms, grinders, gripfast, rangers, ect. for around $130 that also happens to be steel capped???

I am getting a new pair of DMs (steel capped this time - i had a thread about what happened last time. Fucking peices of shit the soft toes were..) for 70 bucks AU soon, cos they gave me some credit with the brand Doc Marten for what happened last time.
It may just renew my faith in the brand...

I know, we talked about it in my thread ages ago...
Well i scoped out my mates steel capped docs and they looked pretty sturdy. He said they broke in alright, and hes had em for 3 years without an issue.

yeah i guess. the steel toes tend to split along the sole, in the leather itself, and lose shape around the end of the steeled area, but i guess if ya look after they'll do for a while. watch out for that soft leather shit docs were doing for a while, that shit rips like nothing else.

Had a pair of Docs a while ago and I liked them. They should last you a couple of years at least, and as to the original post my dad loves his Corcoran boots. They're a different model but that company just makes really quality stuff, but if you want an alternative I highly recommend Grinders and Gripfast in that order.

My soft toe DMs saw pretty much daily wear for about 2 years and held up fine and are still in great condition. Most people I know with soft toe DMs would say the same. I've heard of more complaints with the steel toe DMs than the soft toe ones.
