raleigh/durham is alot fucking nicer than in the likes of jackassville. the sad thing is that it'll take you hours to get down to wilmington. wilmington is nice. if you ever make it out that way, hit up fat tonys and luckies (i think was the name but can't remember) and hit up the uss north cackalakin.

It's a good place overall. If you can deal w/ the Bible Belt, humidity and asshole state troopers. The mountains are an awesome place to go in the fall and winter. The coast, man the coast is just unbelievable. Central NC (the Piedmont) is growing and growing. Tons of work. There is a good scene in Durham and and Wilimington. I love this place, been here for about 20 years.

If you're into reggae/soul etc. there's a place called Alibi bar that has a soul night once a month. It's a $1 membership and after that you can get in for free. Wilmington is only about a 2 & 1/2 hour drive and well worth the trip. Definately check out Lucky's if you get the chance. They usually have some decent shows. Anyway, I'm rambling on I'm sure you'll find your way just fine. It'll be nice to have another girl in town (no Sabby I won't steal her from you). Hope your move down here goes well.

I know we have a lot of hardcore and decent metal shows here, but I have no idea about NC. I've only been up there a handful of times. Make friends with the Vixen girls. They do a fair amount of traveling and road tripping, I'm sure they wouldnt mind an extra lady joining them from time to time.

Hardcore shows are kind of hit or miss. We get some good bands down here. Sometimes you've gotta travel to other cities to go to shows. At times the shows are mixed and there might be ska bands playing with hardcore, oi and streetpunk bands all on one bill. Bullcityboard is usually the best place to keep up with upcoming shows/events.
