A while ago I downloaded this great album over Soulseek, "Swing Tanzen Verboten!" It's jazz music made by the Nazis as propaganda. Most of the songs are making fun of Winston Churchill. There's a small amount of anti-Semitism but the main point of it is to question England's leadership. If you like big band music it's pretty fun.

Just because I'm a nice guy, here's a free sample for you. Around the 0:55 mark, the German singer says "Here's Mr Churchill's latest song dedicated to Great Britain" and the propaganda begins.

i remember going into thise weird little record store a few years ago and finding all this nazi propaganda on vinyl. most of it was set to marching bands though.

My guess is this stuff was sent to England, not played in Germany. I'm still wondering where Hitler found jazz musicians interested in making music for him.

nazi propaganda and millitary theme music turns up all the time in 2nd hand shops in manchester,its crazy,we also get a lot of italian facist ballads lp's and stuff,crazy shit haha :wink: some of the german marching music is really good though.

I heard about this on NPR a while back. It was like the German version of Radio Free Europe. They interviewed some old German woman who sang some of them.
