Because the good Lord would not be so cruel as to take me during college football season. It is finally here. First game of the season Boston College vs. University of Central Michagan, BC knocked the Chippewas quaterback unconscious on the 2nd play of the game. And the game wasn't in the bag until the final 2 minutes, a good start to a good season for all hopefully.:biggrin:

For FSU is on the warpath now,
and at the battle's end she's great.
So fight, fight, fight for victory,
the Seminoles of Florida State!

Florida State Florida State Florida State WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

In old Ohio (Columbus) there's a team,
That's known thru-out the land;
Eleven warriors, brave and bold,
Whose fame will ever stand,
And when the ball goes over,
Our cheers will reach the sky,
Ohio Field will hear again
The Buckeye Battle Cry.

Chorus
Drive! Drive on down the field;
Men of the scarlet and gray;
Don't let them thru that line,
We've got to win this game today,
Come on, Ohio!
Smash thru to victory,
We'll cheer you as you go;
Our honor defend
So we'll fight to the end
For Ohio.

We'll scatter to the east and west,
When college days are done;
And memories will cling around,
The dreams of everyone;
We'll play the game of living,
With head and shoulders high!
And where in wear the spirit of
The Buckeye Battle Cry!

I've grown up cheering for so many teams I always have one that does good. I'm an Ohio State and Wisconsin fan in the Big Ten, Texas and Nebraska in the Big 12...then I sometimes root for UGA, LSU AND Tennesee..Texas A&M, Army/Navy, I went to Purdue...but haven't been big on them for a while.

I don't know about the #1 and #2 spots, there were some good points made on ESPN last night, OSU returns very few if any, starters on defense, and ND only beat 3 teams over .500 last year. Who knows, the weekend of September 16th is going to rock the Top 25 big time, I'll be waiting till after then to start talking smack. That way we'll have already played our biggest games, Miami and Clempson.

They lost 13 players to the draft either last year or the year before...they have been fairing pretty well.

Someone better come through in College...the Packers are getting their ass beat by the Titans right now.:frown:

Barnhart's predicting you guys lose to NIU and Iowa. I don't know about that, but with the pressure on Lloyd Carr, I'd be scared going into the Big House.

I'm from Tampa, currently residing in Tallahassee. I'll be enrolled at FSU either this summer, or next fall, depending on when I graduate from junior college.

Was this a prelude to the "What kind of FSU fan are you? The one who didn't go there or the one who didn't graduate?" joke?:smile:

haha no, i have just never understood how people could get so into a certain team without living their or going to school their.

lets just say there is a lot of Dallas fans in DC that kind of just jumped on the bandwaggon in the 90's........makes me sick

Out upon the gridiron stand old Syracuse,
Warriors clad in orange and in blue,
Fighting for the fame of Alma Mater.
Soon those Crouse chimes will be ringing,
Soon you'll hear those fellows singing.
Onondaga's braves are out to win today,
The sons of Syracuse are ready for the fray,
The line holds like a wall and now the Orange has the ball,
So ready for that old long yell. Rah! Rah! Rah!
Chorus: Down, Down the field goes old Syracuse,
Just see those backs hit the line and go thro';
Down, down the field they go marching,
Fighting for the Orange staunch and true.
Rah! Rah! Rah!
Vict'y's in sight for old Syr-a-cuse,
Each loyal son knows she ne'er more will lose,
For we'll fight, yes, we'll fight, and with all our might
For the glory of old Syracuse.

It's never mattered to me unless they were complete idiots, obviously when a team is doing real well, as we were in the 90's, you're gonna gain fairweather fans from everywhere. If they get introduced to the program that way, and support it, fine, but if they are just jumping on some bandwagon they suck. And most likely will disappear once the program starts to slide a little.

One of the interesting things about our program is that we do have a lot of Native American fans from all over the country, contrary to what the NCAA wants you to believe, they love how the Seminoles represent Native Americans as unconquered warriors.

yea i understand what your saying....i dont mind when someone likes a team thats not good and keeps with them no matter what...thats just them and sometimes it has to do with their parents always likeing a team. My buddy has always loved the browns since he was a kid and he never lived their...and thas completel understandable and respectable.
but i do have problems with people that love like the Yankees for example and have never even been to NY....its more than obvious that they just like them because there good.

Tell that pussy he needs to go to a game where wearing FSU gear may actually have consequences.:biggrin:

I can't imagine the smack he'd recieve on campus... "HEY! FSU! You've beat us 14 years in a row!" Hahaha.
