lol at being listed as ghettotech

i checked out bittertongues first since i'm a big fan of that old quicksand and fugazi stuff, pretty nice i'm digging the "everybody back" tune, lead singer sounds a little like the dude from crowbar (not much but thats how i hear it)

liking the hold fast page even better, love hardcore and yall have a bit of that sxe sound which is one of my favorites, rat pit is tight... love that shit where everything drops out but the bass line.. classic, in vain is good too (at like 45 seconds it cuts out to just one side of the speakers (maybe its my setup)) LOL @ hyphy listing hahaha

checking out the sawwheel stuff now... pretty mellow coffee house stuff, not bad not bad, flowers is pretty smooth, feeling the tamborine on the tunes hahahaha cool stuff for what it is

quality of the recordings are pretty sharp, good selection, nice to hear some variety

thanks for the links

the band of felons stuff is real solid and tight production too i'm feeling the working poor tune and over the edge is mad catchy, punk rock romance too (great lyrics) damn these are some tight cuts! i see yall have drummer issues it says on the page, to tell the truth all the drummers i know are crazy asses hope yall get that together i bet these tunes are dope live, never heard yall before this is really really good stuff

hahaha @ the fallen working class intro sample... love double bass on some hardcore, kinda quiet mix but good stuff here too

i was in california for most of the time define was together but i bet yall had some good shows too bad i missed them, whats the story there?

you obviously keep busy, these were a good listen, really liking the band of felons recordings in particular, keep up the good work

I sing in Bitter Tongues, play drums in Hold Fast, just did some lead in the Saw Wheel stuff... I like Saw Wheel, but it gets a little too mellow for me sometimes.

Bitter Tongues is a really fun band to play in, but we've had ALL kinds of legal trouble with our label, so we've been laying really low lately.

And Hold Fast actually is a straight-edge band, with the exception of myself (it began with all sxe members). The singer's a skin, straight-edge, tough as nails... all-around awesome dude. It's too bad we're breaking up.

Anyway, glad you like the stuff.

the caught in the moment tunes were really muddy i could barely hear them

however the armed suspects was crystal clear, i like the guitar sound and the lyrics are catchy. 20 years lost is a great concept.

i see one of the reviews posted say the lyrics are indiscernable but i disagree i think i can hear everything clearly

really feeling this one if there's vinyl still available i might cop that off the website

good luck with this newest release, sound quality is excellent

why's that? i always wondered why independent groups even deal with labels at all, with small runs its just as easy to do it yourself

good luck with the projects though

Well, the shithouse label (United Edge) distributed the record all over the place, through distros that we couldn't have done ourselves. So it sounded like a good deal at first. Our full-length was in all the mom-and-pop stores, Hot Topics, Best Buy, even Wal-Mart... The record was released on Oct. 11th of last year, and before October was up, we had already sold 2000+ copies of the record. And our deal with the label was actually a publishing deal rather than a recording contract, because we paid for the recordings ourselves, so our royalties were 50% (rather than 14%, which is around average). So we expected a decent payoff.

But now that the record has sold even more than that, the label refuses to pay us our royalties (which should be a LOT) because they misprinted the bar codes on the initial run of CDs, and they claim they can't track album sales. BULLSHIT. The distributors have record of how many were bought by stores. So now we're in the process of auditing them to get our motherfucking money. We spent a lot of time on the road last year, busting our asses, ignoring our responsibilities at home, and staying broke-as-fuck, so now we want some money.

Wait, who from Stormwatch? And funny story: randomly, the brother-in-law of one of the guys in Unyoung Heros is stationed with me down here. He walked up to me and handed me their CD and was like "You look like you might like this". Of course, I was quite familar with the band already...ok, maybe its not that funny, but just a little odd.

Sounds good. He had asked me about starting somthing up a while back, but I was busy with my band, plus school and the military, so it was a no-go. Can't wait to hear it...the Delaware scene is really coming alive since I've been gone...for a while there, my band and labor day saints (road to ruin back then) were the only ones keeping the oi! flame alive...
