Hahaha, fucking great!
Every now and then, at night, DJ's raise money to spin the complete version of Paradise By The Dashboard Light. Most of the time they get about 100 euro's for it.
After spinning that, 90% of the listeners change the frequency.
If I could only remember the name of the song I like I'd probably get the "Gay Post Of The Year" award.

not a whole lot i'm embarrassed about. my girl got me hooked on metric and brendan benson. i own a bunch of cure, morrissey and smiths cds that i'll throw in every now and then.
i also have a whole mess of shit cd's that i 'borrowed' from a radio station i used to work at in hopes of selling them to get some cash, but as it turns out, they were so shitty that i couldn't even sell them, so now i'm stuck with them. once i move (whenever that may be) i'll figure out something creative with them.

People are retarded. They probably think most rap music is original. I still like everything after Ill Communication. I think I'm the only person in the world with The Five Buroughs. Whenever I play An Open Letter to NYC people are like, damn that's sweet. you've never heard the original root down or harlem shuffle, i take it?
but to answer the question, the vast majority of people only know the redone/sampled versions and not the originals, so when the original is played people not in the know get all excited for the sampled pop hit to come on and are greeted with the completely different original.
yes, i'm a music nerd. snob, if you will.

hahaha...that doesn't sound right. what i mean is, i run the Pressure Drop Sound System out of fitzgerald's harp 'n' bard in clifton NJ. i got started at the cottage bar in teaneck and still occasionally spin there, but it's pretty much the harp, skels shows at the harp or the odd scooter rally. i was supposed to do the sole runners rally last month, but they didn't hook up the cd player until later and by that point i was drunk as fuck and in no shape to do much of anything (as my band's set proved) hahahaha....
